Wow, I can't believe this guy is ours!  We fell in love with Cal's dam after seeing her in person at the 2008 ADGA National Show.  Karen and Krista had just arrived a few hours prior and Temerity was milked out just hanging out in her pen.  She wasn't in her "show clothes", she wasn't set up and she wasn't uddered but it was clear what a truly incredible animal she was.  I wasn't in the market for a new buck but I knew at that moment I just had to have a son out of this amazing doe and told Krista just that!

Cal's dam, SGCH Kastdemur's Temerity 5*M EX93 (EEEE) is, in our minds, the ideal Nubian.  She is simply breathtaking. Temerity is the 2008 ADGA National Champion with Best Nubian Udder and the 2009 ADGA National Champion.  Temerity also appraised EX93 (EEEE)... twice!  Cal's sire, *B Kastdemur's King Of The Hill, is proving to be a buck to watch.  At the 2008 ADGA National Show he sired the 1st place/1st Udder Two Year-Old, GCH Kastdemur's Misha 3*M EX90, 5th place Two Year-Old, 6th place Intermediate Kid, 6th place Senior Yearling and  he was named the 2008 ADGA National Show Premier Nubian Sire.  At the 2009 ADGA National Show he sired the 4th place/1st Udder Milking Yearling, Kastdemur's Moulin Rouge 3*M VG89 (VVEE).  To date, all of King's first freshening daughters have appraised VG89... pretty amazing!

Cal is a beautiful buckling who reminds us so much of his dam (he even has her gorgeous head!) being incredibly tall and upstanding, long bodied and level over the topline.  He is also exhibits tremendous dairy character with angularity throughout, openness of ribbing and flatness of bone.  An added bonus is his "old school" coloring - black, tan trim and wide, long tan ears... he very closely resembles his maternal brother, *B Kastdemur's Time In A Bottle.

A huge thank you goes out to my dear friends, Karen and Krista Senn for once again giving us opportunity to work with your amazing animals.  We have bred Cal to several of our top does and can hardly wait to see the results!

Most Wanted's name says it all... he is a Most Wanted addition to our herd.  We couldn't say 'Yes!' fast enough when our good friends Karen and Krista offered him to us.  This beautiful and stylish boy exhibits incredible strength of general appearance being very tall and upstanding with tremendous length of body.  He is very dairy carrying a long, flat bone pattern with sharpness in the withers combined with openness and spring of rib.  Oh, did I mention that he has beautiful breed character?  He has a head and set of ears to die for!  At our 2009 appraisal session, Most Wanted did us proud... EX90 (EEE) as a yearling buck!

There is so much to say about this special boy... where do I begin?  His dam, SG Kastdemur's Mystere 2*M EX90 (VEVE), is a lovely doe.  She was the 2nd place Junior Kid at the 2004 ADGA National Show as well as the 2nd place Senior Yearling in 2005.  At the 2008 ADGA National Show, Mystere was 7th place with 3rd Udder Four Year-Old and was awarded the High 305 Milk and High 305 Butterfat awards.  She is also a full sister to our senior herdsire *B Kastdemur's Full Monty.  Most Wanted's full sister, SGCH Kastdemur's Misha 3*M EX90 (EEEE) is one of our favorite's in the Kastdemur herd.  She was 1st place with 1st place Udder at the 2008 ADGA National Show and when paired up with her dam, they have been undefeated for 1st place Dam & Daughter, including at the 2008 ADGA National Show.  Most Wanted's littermate sister, Kastdemur's Moulin Rouge 3*M was 4th place with 1st Udder at the 2009 ADGA National Show and earned an exciting yearling appraisal score of 1-06 VG89 (VVEE).  Most Wanted's sire, *B Kastdemur's King Of The Hill is a young buck who is already making quite a name for himself.  At the 2008 ADGA National Show he sired the 1st place/1st Udder Two Year-Old, 5th place Two Year-Old, 6th place Intermediate Kid, 6th place Senior Yearling and to top it off he was named the 2008 ADGA National Show Premier Nubian Sire.

Our first Most Wanted babies are here... and WOW!  They are exactly what we had hoped for and more!  They are incredibly strong in general appearance with level toplines, strong feet and legs along with beautiful breed character.  They are also very dairy with sharpness in the withers, openness of ribbing and flatness of bone.  We can't say enough great things about this young herdsire!

Freestyle is a handsome young buck that is sharp, clean and angular with length and levelness across the topline and a wide, level rump. He excels in dairy character and exhibits great strength and smoothness of blending at an early age along with near ideal rear leg set and superb breed character.

Freestyle’s dam, GCH Kastdemur’s Finesse 3*M EX90 (EVEE), was 1st place with 1st place Udder Milking Yearling at the 2003 ADGA National Show and won her class again as a Two Year-Old in 2004. She is a daughter of the 1999 ADGA National Champion with Best Nubian Udder, GCH Kastdemur’s Crown Finale 2*M and a maternal sister to the 2001 ADGA National Champion with Best Nubian Udder, GCH Kastdemur’s Aubree 3*M. Freestyle is sired by SG +*B Kastdemur’s LE Exacta, a son of GCH ++*B Kastdemur’s MPR Liaison and Kastdemur’s CPE No Excuses 4*M who is a daughter of the 1997 ADGA National Champion with Best Nubian Udder, GCH Kastdemur’s Crown Extatic 3*M. Exacta has sired some outstanding daughters in the Redwood Hills herd including, SG Redwood Hills Exacta Simba 6*M EX91 (EEEE) who was a Top Ten Breed Leader in 2003 ranking #9 in Butterfat.

We are excited to have been able to add this well bred young buck to our herd. Thank you Karen and Krista for giving us the chance to work with these exceptional genetics!

A Full Service son to add to our breeding program! Thank you Karen and Krista Senn for sharing this beautiful buck with us. Monty is long, tall, and level with upstandingness in the front end and walks with a great deal of width between the hocks. He is also very dairy carrying a long, flat bone pattern throughout.

His full sister, SG Kastdemur’s Mystique 2*M VG89 (VEVE), was 4th place Milking Yearling at the 2005 ADGA National Show. Another full sister, SG Kastdemur’s Mystere 2*M EX90 (VEEE), was 2nd place Senior Yearling at the 2005 ADGA National Show and has two legs towards her permanent championship. Monty’s dam, SGCH Wooden Bridge Banner’s Miracle 1*M, is a daughter of CH Wooden Bridge Poppycake Banner, the 1995 ADGA National Champion. His sire, SG ++*B Kastdemur’s LH Full Service, was named Premier Sire at the 1999, 2005 and 2006 ADGA National Shows. He also sired the Reserve Junior National Champion and 1st place Junior Get-Of-Sire in 2005 along with the 1st place Four Year-Old and the 2nd place Senior Get-Of-Sire in 2006.

Monty is proving to be an amazing herdsire for us. His offsrping are all very uniform in type being very dairy and long bodied with level toplines, sharpness in the withers and lovely breed character. They have proven to be very showy kids that have excelled in the show ring with all of his daughters in our herd having earned dry legs and most winning BJDIS honors as well!  To top that off... his milking daughters are lovely.  His daughters have higher, wider rear udders and increased milk production over their dams.  So far in our herd Monty has sired 3 permanent champion daughters; SGCH Blissberry FM Intangible 4*M, SGCH Blissberry FM Rockstar 3*M and GCH Blissberry FM Vera Cruz 11*M.  Not only are these does pretty to look at... they MILK too!  Monty's first freshening daughters are also 2008 Top Ten Breed Leaders.  Rockstar ranks #1 for Milk, #4 for Butterfat and #3 for Protein while paternal sis Intangible ranks #3 for Milk, #3 for Butterfat and #1 for Protein.  We couldn't be happier and more pleased to have Monty working in our herd.

Young Sire Development Buck

Show Me The Money is a stylish buck that is well balanced, standing on a strong set of feet and legs, with strength and levelness over the topline while on the move and at rest and smoothness of blending throughout. Like his dam, he is very dairy being flat boned, incredibly angular and open. Show Me The Money had a great show season in 2007 earning two legs towards his permanent championship.

His dam, SGCH Kastdemur’s FS Santa Cruz 10*M, is a herd favorite. Santa Cruz was 1st place with 2nd place Udder Four Year-Old at the 2006 ADGA National Show and 3rd place with 3rd place Udder Three Year-Old and was awarded Highest 305 Butterfat at the 2005 ADGA National Show. His sire, SG ++*B Kastdemur’s Final Justice is a littermate brother to the 1999 National Champion, GCH Kastdemur's Crown Finale 2*M, and a 3/4 brother to the 1997 National Champion, GCH Kastdemur's Crown Extatic 3*M. Show Me The Money is also a paternal brother to other does residing in the herd: GCH Lakeshore Farms Just Tangy 3*M and GCH Lakeshore Farms Just Tina 5*M.

Show Me The Money was stingy with doelings in 2007, but we are impressed with the few daughters he has given us. One daughter, Blissberry SM Notorious, was 14th place Intermediate Kid at the 2007 ADGA National Show, and another, Blissberry Show Me Victory, earned a YSA of 0-05 Ec (EcEcV).

Request is a very large buck who excels in strength of general appearance being very smooth blended throughout, long and level over the topline with tremendous width across the loin and over the rump. He is also very wide and open in the escutcheon with good rear leg angulation and strength of feet and legs. Request finished his championship in 2006 with a show record of 1 X GCH, 1 X BOB and 1 X BBIS.

Request is nearly a genetic full brother to GCH Lakeshore Farms EX Tamia 4*M who was 5th place Two Year-Old in 2001, 5th place Three Year-Old in 2002, 7th place Four Year-Old in 2003, and 4th place Five Year-Old at the 2004 National Show. His dam, SGCH Wingwood Farm ESC Tamina 3*M, was 4th place Aged Doe in 1999 and a member of the 1st place Senior Get-Of-Sire. His sire, SG ++*B Kastdemur’s Final Justice, is a littermate brother to the 1999 National Champion, GCH Kastdemur’s Crown Finale 2*M.

We are very proud of what this buck has done for our herd. His daughters all have very similar mammary systems that are high and wide in the rear with well extended fores and plumb teats. They are very sound individuals as evidenced by their appraisal scores; GCH Lakeshore Farms Hot Gossip 4*M (3-02 VG89), SGCH Blissberry R Rockin’ Robin 2*M (3-06 EX90), and SG Blissberry R Afternoon Delight 4*M (1-04 VG87). These three daughters also made up the 1st place Senior Get-Of-Sire for Request at the 2006 Minnesota State Fair. His daughter, Robin, is also a Top Ten Breed Leader in all three areas. Needless to say, we like what we see!

We had been waiting forever for an Aubree son and jumped at the chance to add this wonderful buck to our herd when Karen offered him to us as a baby. Almost Famous not only exhibits incredible dairiness and flatness of bone, but he is consistently stamping his daughters with that same characteristic. He is also long and level with smoothness of blending in the shoulders, standing on strong feet and legs and has beautiful breed character. He is a son of the 2001 ADGA National Champion with Best Nubian Udder, GCH Kastdemur's Aubree 3*M EX92 (EEEE) and a grandson of the 1999 ADGA National Champion with Best Nubian Udder, GCH Kastdemur's Crown Finale 2*M EX91 (EEVE). Almost Famous' maternal sister, SGCH Kastdemur's Audacity 4*M EX91 (EEEE), was the 2003 ADGA Junior National Champion and was 8th place Two Year-Old in 2004 and 4th place Three Year-Old in 2005. His littermate sister, Kastdemur’s Breeze 4*M, earned 2 legs towards her permanent championship along with a BIS win and appraised EX92 (EEEE) in 2006. His sire, +*B Lakeshore Farms Doctor Luke, sired the 2004 ADGA Junior National Champion along with the 1st place Milking Yearling, 1st place Two Year-Old and 1st place Sr. Get-Of-Sire in 2005.

Almost Famous has not given us many daughters but we are delighted with what he has shown us so far. His offspring are much improved in the area of dairiness than their dams, carrying a long, flat bone pattern with openness and angularity throughout. He is also improving mammary systems, adding height and width to the rear udders as well as correct teat size and placement.

2006 INBA All Ameircan Two Year-Old Buck

Jack has the designation of being one of the most attractive bucks on our farm. He is a very large and tall buck with a lot of substance of bone and good width and depth throughout. He is extremely level across the back and has a wide, flat rump. Jack finished his championship in 2006 with an impressive show record of 3 X GCH, 1 X RGCH, 3 X BOB and 2 X BBIS!

We have long admired Jack’s dam, GCH Lakeshore Farms Julie’s Jaguar 3*M EX92 (EEEE), and are excited to have been able to add her son to our breeding program. Jaguar has consistently shown well at Nationals placing 2nd as a Five - Six Year-Old in 2006, 2nd as a Four year-Old in 2005, 2nd as a Three Year-Old in 2004, 2nd as a Two Year-Old in 2003 and 10th as a Milking Yearling in 2002. This year Jaguar was crowned the 2007 ADGA Reserve National Champion with Reserve Best Udder.  Jack’s sire, SG ++*B Kastdemur’s At Your Service, sired the 1st place Two Year-Old and National Best Nubian Udder at the 2003 ADGA National Show, the 1st place Four Year-Old at the 2004 Nationals and also several other high placing animals.

Jack now resides in Canada but we plan to use him via AI in the future.

After seeing King's first fresh daughter, we knew he was something special. SGCH Kastdemur's Misha 3*M VG89 (VVVE) is one of the prettiest yearling milkers that we have ever seen and we quickly decided that this was a buck we had to use in our herd.

King is a son of GCH Lassenwood Miller Kiona 1*M, 4th place Three Year-Old at the 2004 ADGA National Show, 3rd place/3rd Udder in 2005 and 4th place 5 & 6 Year Old in 2006.      Aptly named in reference to our diversion from Nubians, we acquired Detour in the most unusual manner. Most people don't go our and get a buck first before even having some does in the herd under their belt, but we couldn't help ourselves with this guy. It was apparent from the start that Detour was special. He was incredibly tall, sharp, clean boned and angular with exceptional length of body. Detour displayed the extreme overall correctness and dairy character that is a trademark of the Kastdemur herd. His feet and legs were outstanding, both in the strength of pastern and set and angle to the rear legs. Detour had the most amazing personality and we credit him for being single handedly responsible for our love of the LaMancha breed. Smarter than he should've been, more loving that a buck usually is and so creative in getting the attention he was so sure that he deserved. We appreciated every moment we had with him.

Detour is the last son of the beautiful, SGCH One*Oak*Hill Tumbleweed Diva 1*M EX93 (EEEE) who was 1st place Three Year-Old with Best LaMancha Udder at the 1999 ADGA National Show. Diva has had several sons that have produced winning daughters including the 2006 National Champion, SGCH Kickapoo Valley Respect Sequel. His sire, Kastdemur's Sting, is a son of the lovely SGCH Kastdemur's Slice 3*M EX93 (EEEE), the 2005 ADGA National Champion with Best LaMancha Udder.

We were heartbroken when we lost Detour suddenly this summer and we miss him tremendously, but plan to use him via A.I. for many years to come.
