At nearly 11 years old, Torrie is indeed the “grand old
lady” of the herd. She is a very stylish doe who is strong
in general appearance. The first thing you notice about her is
her long, level topline and wide, flat rump. She is very tall
with sharpness in the withers and stands on a strong set of
feet and legs. Her mammary is held high and wide in the rear
with adequate fore extension, good medial and placement of
teats. Torrie was 4th place Four Year-Old with 3rd Udder at
the 2001 National Show and was also part of the 1st place
Produce-Of-Dam. She was also the 2001 INBA All American Four
Year-Old. Torrie won her class at the 2004 Minnesota State
Fair with 1st place Udder, as well as being a member of our
1st place Dairy Herd, 1st place Dam & Daughter, and 1st
place Produce-Of-Dam.
She is the dam of GCH
Lakeshore Farms Just Tangy 3*M who was the 6th
place Five & Six Year-Old at the 2005 National Show, 3rd
place Three Year-Old at the 2003 National Show and 3rd place
Two Year-Old at the 2002 National Show.
Torrie has since been retired from the show ring,
but is continuing to produce lovely offspring for us. Her 2006
daughter,
CH Blissberry
Wild Topaz 2-06 VG89, was 4th place
Senior Yearling at the 2007 ADGA National Show and Junior Champion
at the 2007 Minnesota State Fair.
We are deeply saddened that Torrie is no longer with us but
her amazing legacy will live on in our herd through her
daughters, granddaughters and son.
